Puppersitting?

Lovely, idea
Sherry,
Gable would LOVE to have Boagie come over to play or stay a weekend. They could whine at each other all day and night.
I will never forget that playdate. We usually have someone come and stay at the house...this way, they can dog and house sit. I did ask JoAnne for some suggestions regarding dogsitters and Smiling Princess' mommy did recommend a kennel. I am sure if you ask they can give you the same information. I think the idea of dogsitting for our fellow friends is a great idea and I would not mind helping out...as long as your greys like children
Remember, I've got a 5 and twelve year old...and they have to be schnauzer friendly as well.

I love your idea !
I have a third baby on the way, I will have 3 kids under age 4. and one Greyhound here that is perfect with kids. Our house is pretty full. Someday I would like to have more greyhounds.
I hate using kennels, I refuse it ! so many greys have seperation anxiety, that is the worst thing a person can do to a grey, stick em in a kennel, when they have that. I think your idea is excellent. I wish I could offer our house, but we are so full. I cant wait for a relaxing vacation someday, but that wont be for a while.
For about a year, I did puppy house calls. Daily I would go to a house and let their dog out and play with them for a bit while thier owners where are work. Or once in a while their was a nurse that had to stay at work for longer periods of time, so I would have to go let her dogs out too. But now, I barely have time for a shower.

doubt it, vi
Gosh, Vi. Let's see I have 6 grandkids, and three of them and their mom just moved out after 9 years of living with me. I'll have to pass on the human kidlet sitting for now. Am soooooooo enjoying my home and "aloneness" with my dogs. But, I'll definitely keep you on my list. :- )

Re: Puppersitting?
I have an idea, what do you think about taking my 2 human kids for the day, and I puppysit your greyhound. That way we both get a break...

Puppersitting?
What do all of you do when you need to be gone overnight, weekend, whatever? Are you lucky enough to have someone come in to care for your greys or do you kennel them?
Do you think there would be enough interest to start a greysitting co-op? I'm single and rarely go anywhere, but it would be wonderful to know I could call on another grey-family to watch my dogs in exchange for caring for theirs once in awhile rather than a kennel. Sometimes my family is just too busy to help.
Thoughts?
