Greyhound Racing Fact & Fiction

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to put some feelers out, and see what you all knew about dog racing and the conditions the dogs live in. I've seen some pretty gross stuff on youtube and read some bad things on message boards and stuff, but I wasn't sure if those were just scare tactis or what. It seems to me that it would be in the best interest of owners to treat their greys like kings/queens, but I have a feeling that might not be the case with nearly retired racers or youngsters who don't have a future in racing. How are they treated? I'm sure it depends on the dog and the trainer, but I'd take examples if you got him.

I got Dermit from Donna Lovely, and when I went out there, it seemed like she had a pretty nice set up for the dogs. Is that typical?

Just wanted to see what you guys knew or if you had any sources that don't really have an agenda either way.
