Re: Martingale Collars
Laura has done all her collar shopping in the recent past at 2 Hounds Design. They last well, as long as Rios doesn't get a chance to tear around the back yard with one in her mouth!
We used to buy from a lady in Albuquerque, though her web site underwent a drastic recontruction a couple of years ago, that resulted in only packages of collars being available for purchase. Since then we've acquired two more hounds, so I guess that wouldn't be as impractical an option any more.
Edit: the other site is Classic Hound, and my past confusion was over the "Collar Club", though checking the site now, it seems to have been well sorted out, and offers individual collars for sale again.

Joanne, you are so funny. I have this picture of the spare closet in your house with lots of pretty collars, vests, jackets, and leashes all lined up. What a wonderful grey soul you have. I have often thought how fun it would be to take a trip to Utah to vistit the Greyhound Gang. She has quite a story.
If anyone is ever close to Abeline KS - that's where I got Ace, my wonderful black boy who has passed - take lots of $s. The Greyhound Hall of Fame has a fabulous gift shop and there's another super greyhound store nearby that has everything you could imagine. Gift shop is online, also, I believe.

Collars
Silk Road Collars - silkroadcollars.com are very, very high quality and last forever. I have had some for 6 or 7 years--and washed them many times. They are a bit pricey, $30 to $45, but when you figure it lasts that long, they are well worth it.
Also, the Greyhound Gang - greyhoundgang.org has an auction the first two weeks of every month. They usually have collars (many times silk road collars) and I have gotten several off of that site. I like to do that as I am getting a high quality collar and it is helping homeless hounds--all of the funds go to that adoption group--it is a win/win I have purchased several of these.
An employee at the Shelter has just started up a business making collars, personalized scarves, etc. I have had collars at play group--and will have them probably from now on. They are $32 to $36. They are good quality collars as well--and since she is just starting out, any issues she is happy to resolve. I have several of her collars as do some from play group. I can put you in touch with her any time.
One other place that has great collars is through http://www.designssylvia.com/. She is a fantastic greyhound owner who makes great, inexpensive greyhound collars. She will make them personalized or make just about anything you want. She's a super lady. I also have several of her collars, vests, etc.
OK, do you get the picture that I have a "thing" about collars?

Thanks for the suggestion. I got Dermit a collar off of there once. It was a nice personalized (maybe dog-inalized?) but it wasn't the traditional martingale collar I'm used to seeing. It worked for a little bit, but I eventually decided to make the switch to the Premier martingale.
I found a store in eBay called Zwebbing. They had some nice collars. A little pricey, though, so I might have to sleep on it a night or two.

Martingale Collars
Hey all, if anyone would recommend a place to get cool martingale collars. I love my Premier martingale that I got at the humane society and Dermit will always have one of those for his walks, but I was also thinking about getting him something with a little pizzazz or something.
